The Bayerton Area Women's Alliance

Women have to fight hard to open doors that have historically been closed to them, and we have found that the best way to help other women is to hold those doors open and encourage other advocates to do the same. A little bit of support can go a long way, but we're all about providing as much support as we possibly can. We help women achieve both their professional goals and their personal goals.

• Universal Pre-K so no woman will have to make this choice: working just to cover costly daycare expenses or being a stay-at-home mom to avoid paying for daycare. Women have the right be mothers and have thriving careers.
• Protecting and expanding social safety nets to ensure that no woman is ever left struggling vulnerable and alone.
• Recovery services and support for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
• Access to full reproductive care, including safe and legal abortions as well as improving maternal and infant care, especially in Black communities where the maternal mortality rate is higher than the national average.
• Competent health services for both physical and mental health with providers who are educated in women's issues and listen to their patients, aiming to help without criticism.
• Access to affordable gender affirmation hormones and surgeries so people can feel their authentic selves.

Our Mission

The Bayerton Area Women's Alliance is involved in the promotion of women's human rights and the equality and empowerment of women. We strive to champion women from all walks of life because we know that a little bit of support can make a huge difference in somebody's life. Because of this, our goal is to champion the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion to support all women. This includes immigrants, women of color, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, and more. Women deserve to feel supported and heard in their personal lives and in their professional lives.

Research. Advocate. Educate.

Bayerton Area Women's Alliance is dedicated to the support of women, and that's why we listen to what the women in our area are asking for. We host focus groups, conduct surveys, and reach out to different organizations to hear what the women in the Bayerton area want. Through the data collected, we advocate on behalf of other women for their needs.

We host events throughout the year where women can build relationships with local businesses to promote themselves professionally. Bayerton Area Women's Alliance also holds political rallies that concern women's rights and helps women find transportation to a local rallies and services. On a more personal level, we enjoy educating the public with our outreach events either from our own planned activities or by partnering with other local organizations. These events give us the opportunity to reach women young and old, and hold the door open for them so they can claim their rights and achieve their dreams.
